Did You Ever Think That Drinking Water Safety Is One Of Your Most Important Responsibilities?
By Daniel * Filed under: Water Purification Each time we go to our drinking water faucets, it is our expectations that we will have pure water at our disposal. Drinking water safety should be the first thing on everyones mind because water is so critical to good health, and that is important whether we are obtaining our drinking water from a municipal water supply or from our own private well. No guarantee of pure water Municipal water supplies are routinely tested for safety, but the general public is not always aware of the results of those drinking water safety tests.
Those tests however, are always reported to the EPA as well as the state. If the results do not stand up to the standards set out by those two entities, then they step in to let the public know and help make sure that it does. The most important thing you need to remember, though, is that just because the controlling authorities say that your water is safe to drink does not necessarily mean that it lives up to your personal standards.
When you go to your drinking water faucets, you really do want to know that you are getting the highest quality of water available, but there is no certainty that this is what you are getting unless you have taken the steps to make sure.
You could purchase bottled water the way many people these days are doing, but what is the guarantee that you are not just getting someone elses municipal water supply? Bottled water may not be good enough Drinking water safety must also take into consideration leaching that can take place from the chemicals that plastic water bottles are made from. Water that is purified at the source, where it is being bottled, goes through a number of processes that remove many of the beneficial minerals, as well as those that are not so good for us.
When this takes place the result is more aggressive water that can react with the surface of the container which causes those chemicals to go into the water. It seems to be a no win situation. You remove the minerals for more caustic chemicals to be leached into the water you are drinking from your purchased bottled water. Since you do not know how long the bottled water has been sitting in those plastic bottles, serving up your own from your purified drinking water faucet could be the answer you have been looking for.
